The KickGuessr 100 Days Challenge gets progressively harder as the days go on. Days 1 to 10 are designed for everyone — Ronaldo, Messi, Mbappé. Days 21 onwards are where real football knowledge is tested.
Here are ten players coming up in the challenge that will separate real fans from casual supporters. No spoilers on which specific day each one appears — you will need to follow along to find out.
- Stanislav Lobotka
Lobotka is a Slovakian defensive midfielder who was the heartbeat of Napoli’s Serie A title win in 2023. His squad number is 68 — unusual enough to be a memorable clue. Most casual fans have never heard of him. Fans who watched Serie A closely that season know exactly who he is.
- Jeremie Frimpong
Born in Amsterdam but playing for Ghana, Frimpong was one of the key players in Bayer Leverkusen’s unbeaten Bundesliga season. His name, nationality, and club form a combination that will confuse anyone who does not follow German football closely.
- Granit Xhaka
Xhaka is now a Bundesliga champion with Leverkusen but many football fans still think of him as the Arsenal player who was booed off the pitch and stripped of the captaincy. His redemption story is one of the best in modern football. His nationality — Swiss — and his journey from Arsenal villain to German champion are both part of the clues.
- Khvicha Kvaratskhelia
When Napoli signed Kvaratskhelia from Georgian football in 2022, almost nobody in Western European football knew his name. Within a season he had won Serie A and been named one of the best players in Europe. His name is still difficult to spell and impossible to pronounce for most fans. Both facts have been used as clues.
- Viktor Gyökeres
Gyökeres went from playing Championship football in England with Coventry City to becoming one of the most prolific strikers in European football at Sporting CP in Portugal. His Swedish nationality combined with his English lower-league background creates a clue combination that fools most people.
- Florian Wirtz
Germany’s most exciting attacking talent tore his ACL at 18 years old and came back better than before. His club Bayer Leverkusen won the Bundesliga unbeaten in the season he returned to full fitness. He wears the number 10 shirt. He is 22 years old and already one of the best players in the world.
- Ademola Lookman
Lookman scored a hat-trick in the Europa League final for Atalanta against Bayer Leverkusen in 2024. He is Nigerian. He previously played in the Premier League for Everton, RB Leipzig, and Leicester City without making a major impact. His Europa League final performance came from nowhere and changed how people see him.
- Kaoru Mitoma
Mitoma is a Japanese winger at Brighton who wrote his university thesis on dribbling before turning fully professional. That fact alone is extraordinary. His thesis analysed the biomechanics of dribbling and how to improve success rates. He then went and became one of the best dribblers in the Premier League.
- Granit Xhaka’s Switzerland Teammate
We are not naming this player — you will meet them during the challenge. But they play in a league that most English-speaking football fans rarely watch, for a national team that never gets enough attention. Getting this one right from Clue 1 would make you genuinely elite.
- The Day 100 Player
We have not revealed who Day 100 is. We will start giving hints from Day 90. What we can tell you is that this player is not in any of the obvious databases of famous footballers that most people reference. They are real, they are significant, and almost nobody will get them without the third clue.
